- I served 31 years in the U.S. Navy starting in Jan 1957 and ending in Mar 1988. I later served another 10 years supporting the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic employed by the Naval Aviation Depot at Jacksonville, FL from 1992 to 2002. Then we went full-time RVing.
