In the early 1970's (1970 - 1973) I was serving with Navy Fighter Squadron 151. We were assigned to the USS Midway (CVA-41) and made two extended cruises in support of our country's efforts in Viet Nam. Here is a picture of a four aircraft flight of VF-151 aircraft over Mount Fuji.
In 1985 while serving as The Maintenance Chief of VA-46 I was detached for a medical condition and subsequently spent a year working for the Commander of Light Attack Wing One as a manpower management analyst - I had earned the Navy classification code for that position while working for The Commander in Chief of the Atlantic Fleet on my previous shore duty assignment. Back to the picture story. Right after I left VA-46 a friend - still in VA-46 - sent me this framed picture.
I served 31 years in the U.S. Navy starting in Jan 1957 and ending in Mar 1988. I later served another 10 years supporting the U.S. Navy as an aircraft mechanic employed by the Naval Aviation Depot at Jacksonville, FL from 1992 to 2002. Then we went full-time RVing.
